Join us for a 2 hour Altered Book workshop! Altered books are started from unwanted/unloved books and transformed into a creation of art! We use art materials and techniques to incorporate our book into a unique piece of art. Altered books provide a safe and approachable space to create without the pressure of starting with a blank canvas. Together, we'll transform pages, embrace imperfections, and discover the beauty of simply letting go. Art materials are provided! We will be starting to work on our altered books in this workshop; the books may not be completed during the 2 hours. You will have time to view examples, hear about different techniques, and utilize a variety of art materials. You will take your book home with you to be able to continue the journey on your own. During the workshop, you will start working on your altered book however you’d like using the materials. This is not a typical step by step class, as it’s more playing with materials and going with the flow of your process.
Lindsey is an artist born and raised in NJ. She owns her own practice as a licensed professional counselor and licensed and board-certified art therapist, conducting clinical sessions to assist clients individually through art and talk therapy. Outside of the clinical setting, she created ‘Abstract and Aligned’, which focuses on art workshops and classes, focusing on wellness, connection, and self-expression. Lindsey continues to advocate for the arts and share about the therapeutic and healing benefits that art offers; the power of self-care and for carving out creative time for self-expression. Much of Lindsey’s art is based around self-expression and abstract design. Lindsey loves to provide a space for creators to come together and immerse themselves in visual expression.
